The world might be facing a serious dearth of jobs, but the nursing students are certainly not going to realise about the same. Especially, there is a significant scope for those interested in making a career as a nursing assistant. Not just the demand, their pay structure has significantly grown as well. By May last year the annual package of nursing assistant used to be around $28k, which has witnessed around 50% hike in one year, as per the latest reports. Such growth in payouts is encouraging more number of students to make the most of such opportunities.

There is a significant growth of employment forecasted in coming futures. As per the labour bureau reports, around 12% growths in job creation can be expected by 2022. Starting from the corporate hospitals to the government hospitals, number of nursing assistant jobs in USA has grown in all domains.
Qualification needed:

To be a nursing assistant, one needs to complete state authorised education programs, and must have the fundamental nursing and clinical knowledge. At least, they should be having a diploma in nursing studies from an authorised institution. However, it is true at the same time that these nursing assistants are given additional training by the concerned hospital or therapeutic centre.

Post completion of the state authorised education programs, students have to appear for competitive exams these days. Successfully clearing these exams can give them the tag of Certified Nursing Assistant. Through the process, their names get in to the list of state registry of nursing staffs. In some occasions, the background information, especially the criminal background is checked. With growing experience and knowledge, a nursing assistant can be promoted in to positions like certified medical assistants. Though nursing assistants or certified medical assistants don’t need license in general, but in some occasions the corporate hospitals demand BLS certification, especially if they have to handle CPR related aspects.

Key Qualities:

More than education, a nursing assistant needs to acquire some key characters. First of all, their communication skill needs to be the best. This is so as they have to deal with people of all age groups, qualification, and backgrounds. A nursing assistant needs to have that genuine compassion or should be passionate about the job. Handling people with a lot of pain, even for an hour can’t be managed, unless the person possesses some genuine passion.
